Elydoric

Many artists throughout history have represented the human form through paintings and sculpture. With the digital taking over society and a regression from physical connections with nature and the world surrounding us, works with the human form have shifted to the photographic, video, installations and the digital. Even with this shift, there is still a desire to connect with nature within the digital revolution.

When I create my work, I tend to create images that have strong ties to art history painters, the most influence comes from Gustav Klimpt and Pierre- Auguste Renoir. The work Elydoric, works around the idea of bringing the nude figure back towards nature through digital manipulation. The female form is brought back through a direct correlation of the body as part of the natural world. By reducing the visibility of the face, the viewer can decipher the image through shapes rather than the individual characteristics of the subject.
